The equipment I currently have in use consist mostly of Yaesu transceivers. They are pretty good value for money so it’s nice equipment for starters.
At home I use a Yaesu FT-7900 for local traffic and to work the repeaters I can reach. The FT-7900 is connected to a Diamond X300N which is mounted at a height of approximately 12 meters. Our surroundings are a 20 meter above see level so the antenna is around 32 meters above sea level.
For HF I use a Yaesu FT-450D and a Yaesu FT-897D, both have their own antenna tuner, an LDG YT-450 and an LDG-AT897 Plus. The 897D is equipped with a additional SSB filter. For HF I use an G5RV junior antenna and a home build end-fet for 10-20-40 meters. The LDG-AT897 Plus is able to tune the G5RV junior at 80 meters but the results are very poor.
To get access to FT8 and other digital modes I use a Yaesu SCU-17
In my car I use a Kenwood TM-G707 Dual Bander with an JWX window antenna for 2 meter and 70 centimetres.
